Contrast and “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy”

I’m usually quite private about my personal life when it comes to writing things online. I like to keep things business oriented and allow a connection to form with my clients rather than just throwing everything out there. Today, however, I’d like to talk about one of my personal passions.

I’m a bit of a music enthusiast.

It’s my belief that music is the language of our soul. The music someone enjoys and the passion in which they attach to various kinds of music can tell you a LOT about what kind of person is sitting in front of you.

Music is something that can connect people in a way that many other things cannot.

Some of my best memories have been lying on a couch with someone special enjoying a new album or taking in a concert with friends. Music stays with you forever attached to various places, emotions or times of our lives.

Yesterday Kanye West’s new album “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy” was released to the public. I haven’t been able to turn it off or listen to anything else with the amount of enjoyment as I receive from this album. In a modern world filled with mediocrity and the acceptance of the ordinary this masterpiece is as close to a perfect expression of an artist’s self as I’ve heard in recent times.

Kanye has always been a figure of much controversy. Between his obscene and inappropriate appearances, shocking statements and artistic talent he is an incredibly polarizing person. Love him or hate him you will never feel neutral about this man. “Fantasy” comes following his long seclusion after the Taylor Swift fiasco and it’s tremendously apparent that he’s committed himself to an incredible amount of soul searching.

As I listened to his words, the music and the composure of the album it got me thinking. Naturally being a seduction coach I look for parallels and examples in that which has nothing to do with what I do. This album presents a number of lessons that any man looking to get better with women can take and use to improve himself. One in particular stands out throughout and that is the element of contrast.

For me the contrasting elements of the album bring to attention the power behind a multifaceted personality. The exploration of his own personal demons and analysis of his dark side as well as the embracement of the ego and grandeur create a magnetic roller-coaster that explores the highs and lows that plague us all.

The attraction should be obvious. A one sided personality is one of predictability and boredom. At the same time a ride of one’s emotional spectrum is too chaotic for most to feel a connection to.

Yet a combination of the two is at its core what every man should seek to achieve.

Throughout the album from start to finish it is apparent that the lows of hedonism and the highs of beauty and art are fitted within each other. Nowhere is this more apparent than in the song “All Of The Lights” in which the tones of the song sing that of a larger than life personality. Yet West’s lyrics strike the lowest chord in which he describes his insanity while outlining his struggles to maintain control. The result is a symphony of soaring highs and rock bottom depression that ends up being one of the best tracks on the album.

Consider this and the confidently delivered “Wow, to be honest, you’re so beautiful that I hardly know what to say to you.” Followed by a smooth transition and an impactful demeanor this creates an incredibly powerful draw. Yet, the same line delivered in an incompetent way would be struck down as just another sissy move.

The best players I’ve ever met are cosmopolitan type well spoken men with a sharp edge implemented into their personality. Without that edge there is no contrast and no spark.

It could even be something small as an element of your style that doesn’t fit, something that isn’t how you are.

Emotions are at the core of what we’re trying to achieve as seducers. If you can’t make a person feel something than you’re never going to be able to move them to a level of compulsion.

I can train the most hated person on the face of the planet to be loved by women. In fact emotional persuasion is one of the ways I assess where a man will need to begin his journey into learning seduction. It’s a thin line between love and hate and if he can make those around him feel something, anything, he’s one step closer to being able to morph that into productive emotions.

Always remember that sliding down the middle, riding the line of neutrality, will get you nowhere. It’s only when the extremes of highs and lows compliment each other that you will learn to strike an emotional chord.

Kanye West would be nowhere without his ability to polarize the world into a love/hate relationship and you will never get the success you want with women until you can create the same feeling.

I haven’t even finished reading the article yet, but I had to leave a comment. I know exactly what you mean.

Music defines times in my life. I will always remember someone, or something that happened due to music and sometimes can be a better way of showing someone how I feel than me actually telling them. It’s just crazy
